Reishi mushroom extract

Reishi

Ganoderma lucidum
Reishi is a medicinal mushroom with a long history in traditional Eastern medicine.
Immune Modulation: Reishi contains compounds like beta-glucans, which are believed to activate immune cells
Enhancing Immune Cell Function: Studies suggest that reishi may increase the number and activity of certain immune cells, including T-lymphocytes, which play a crucial role in the immune response.
Potential for Anti-Viral and Anti-Tumour Effects: Some research suggests that reishi may have antiviral properties and potentially help reduce the growth of certain tumour cells, though more research is needed in this area.
Chaga mushroom extracts

Chaga

Inonotus obliquus
The Chaga Mushroom offers a wide range of health benefits, including potential anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and powerful antioxidant properties. Traditionally, they have been used to support and strengthen the immune system
Beta-glucans: Rich in beta-glucans, Chaga is known to stimulate immune function. These compounds help activate immune cells, improving their ability to fight off pathogens.
Cytokine regulation: Chaga may help regulate the production of cytokines, which are crucial for immune cell communication. Some studies suggest that chaga can prevent the production of harmful cytokines, which can contribute to inflammation.
Turkey Tail Mushroom

Turkey Tail

Trametes Versicolor
Also known as Coriolus versicolor, Turkey tail has gained fame for its potential cancer-fighting abilities (for some types of cancer). In Japan, PSK (derived from Turkey tail) is an approved adjuvant cancer treatment, as confirmed by the National Cancer Institute. Turkey tail works by supporting and boosting the immune system, which helps the body produce antibodies that can target and fight cancer cells.
The PSK and PSP (another compound found in Turkey Tail) may help stimulate immune cells, regulate immune responses, and potentially improve immune function.

Your questions answered

Here's a quick list of common questions about mushroom coffee. See more FAQ's in the button below, or ask questions using the chat feature.
hello world!

What does Mushroom Coffee taste like?

For starters, it doesn’t taste like mushrooms at all!

Since it has a coffee base, it has a delicate coffee flavour. The mushroom extracts add a slight maltyness and a smooth texture.

It has a very pleasant flavour profile that you’re sure to enjoy.

What coffee is used?

We source our organic & fair trade coffee from a roaster on the Kapiti Coast. The blend  is sweet, lively and full-bodied with notes of ripe strawberry and milk chocolate. In our opinion this on one of the best coffees in the NZ.

This is a ground coffee, with a grind that is easy to make.

Each cup has only half the caffeine as a regular cup of coffee.

Can you backup your claims?

Yes. We have made sure that all our partners supply the best quality ingredients, and that these ingredients have been 3rd party tested and authenticity certified. Copies of certificates are  available on our website.

We do not make any medical claims or over-hype how mushrooms can change your life. However, we do know that there is a huge body of scientific evidence to support these types of claims.

How long will it take before I feel the effect?

Everyone will experience the effects differently, and the effects will vary depending on the mushroom varieties.

Unlike caffeine, which hits you all at once, the effects of mushrooms build up over a few weeks. However, you should start feeling the effects within 5 to 7 days of starting.

For instance, with Lion’s Mane, you may notice an extra spring in your step after a few days and wake feeling more alert.

Also, note that since the concentration of caffeine is low, you may not feel the effects of caffeine at all. It is unlikely to give you jitters, anxiety, or other negative effects.

How much is safe? can I over do it?

Mushroom extracts are generally considered safe, but there’s limited research on the effects of excessive consumption.

We recommend starting with one cup a day for a few weeks and gradually increasing the amount if you want to enhance the effects.

Additionally, please read the pages about the individual extracts used in each blend. These pages include a section on their use and safety.

Is it easy to use?

We use ground coffee because its richer flavours complement the mushrooms well. The versatile grind allows you to use your preferred brewing methods.

Since the mushrooms are an extract rather than a powder, they will completely dissolve in the water, so will not get filtered out.
