Making Mushroom coffee

The grind of our coffee is medium course, making it suitable for the following methods. It may work in espresso machines, but not optimal.

We have selected a coffee blend that complements the mushrooms, being fairly light with sweeter and fruity notes.

Because we use mushroom extract (not a mushroom powder) it will be 100% dissolved in the water, so is not filtered out by the process.

Our mushroom coffee does not taste like mushrooms!

Cold brew

This is our favourite method.

There's just something about cold extraction that brings out the best flavours in coffee & it works well with the mushroom blend.

Use a French Press if you do not have specialised cold brew equipment.

Fill

Add 9g (about 2 tea spoons), per person to the container

Add cold water

Pour in about 1 cups (250ml)  worth cold water per person

Brew

Put it into the fridge overnight to let it brew

serve

Next day, Push down the plunger and serve on ice, or heat in the microwave. Feel free to add milk

Dripper

Another good method.

Requires simple but specialised
coffee making equipment like a Hario V60.

This is great investment. This simple & foolproof method makes exceptional tasting coffee, and is often preferred by coffee connoisseur.

Stove top

Simple and easy

not our favourite method, as boiling the coffee brings out bitter and acidic flavours.

It is quick and easy, and some people may like it.

Fill

Add 9g (about 2 tea spoons), per person to the filter

Add cold water

Pour in about 1 cups (250ml)  worth cold water per person

Boil

Bring it to the boil on the stovetop, but not for to long

serve

Serve hot. Feel free to add you standard coffee fix's

Moka Pot

Our least favourite method, as the grind is a little corse for using pressure methods

However it is doable, so if you need to go the espresso route, go right ahead.

Make sure to use an appropriate (small) sized pot
