Another secret for success is making sure your mushrooms get plenty of O2 (as in oxygen). If CO2 starts building up, say if its in a fairly restricted space, the mushrooms will grow long and spindly VERY quickly.
If you see this happening that’s a a sign to move to give it fresh air FAST. The mushrooms will also grow smaller caps.
If you get to the too late, they are still okay to eat, perhaps try a cooking them like salt and petter squid or baby octopus!
